Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Leavn Bible study application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Leavn is a Bible study application that provides:

Access to Bible text through the ESV API
Personal study tools including highlights, notes, and bookmarks
AI-powered features (with user-provided API keys)
Community features including prayer walls and study groups
Audio narration and reading plans
Kids Mode with age-appropriate content

3. User Accounts

You may use Leavn with or without creating an account. If you choose to create an account:

You must provide accurate and complete information
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account
You must be at least 13 years old (or have parental consent)
You are responsible for all activities under your account

4. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including:

Personal notes and reflections
Prayer requests
Bookmarks and highlights
Custom reading plans

By posting content to community features, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display that content to other users as part of the service.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the App for any unlawful puppose
Post inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content
Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or compromise the App
Violate any third-party rights
Use the App to spam or harass others
Share API keys or account credentials

6. Community Guidelines

When using community features (prayer wall, study groups), you agree to:

Be respectful and supportive of others
Keep discussions focused on faith and Bible study
Report inappropriate content or behavior
Respect the privacy of other users

7. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms:

ESV Bible text is provided under license from Crossway
AI features require your own API keys and are subject to provider terms
Apple services (iCloud, Sign in with Apple) are subject to Apple's terms
Google and Firebase services used by the Android app are subject to Google's terms

8. Subscription and Pricing

Leavn is currently free to download and use. If future pricing or subscription options are introduced, they will be clearly communicated in advance. Core Bible study features will always remain free.

9. Intellectual Property

The Leavn App and its original content are owned by Will Sigmon Media Company
Bible text is used under license from respective copyright holders
You may not copy, modify, or distribute the App without permission
User-generated content remains the property of the respective users

10. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND.

We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the App. Bible study and interpretation should be done in consultation with qualified spiritual leaders and communities.

AI features are experimental and should not replace human wisdom, pastoral care, or professional advice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Will Sigmon Media Company shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use or inability to use the App.

12. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings. Upon termination, your right to use the App will cease immediately.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes through the App or via email. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Wake County, North Carolina.
