Data Storage and Security

Core study data can be stored locally on your device for offline use
On iOS, local data may use Core Data and optional iCloud/CloudKit sync
On Android, local data may use encrypted app storage, Room, and DataStore
If Android account sync is enabled, selected account and study data may be securely stored with Firebase services such as Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore
API keys and sensitive local settings are stored using platform security tools such as the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore/encrypted storage
All network communications use HTTPS encryption
We do not sell your personal data
You can use the app entirely offline with local-only storage

Note: We never store or have access to your API keys. They remain encrypted on your device.

App Permissions

Leavn may request the following permissions:

Notifications: For daily verses and reading reminders
Microphone: To record voice prayers, audio notes, or reflections
Biometrics: To protect sensitive settings or private journal areas when enabled
Camera or Photo Library: Only on platforms/features that support attaching media or saving verse images
Network Access: To load Bible content, sync data, deliver notifications, and power optional AI features

All permissions are optional and you can use the app without granting them.

Delete your account and all associated data
Opt out of data sync (use local-only storage)

Children's Privacy

Our app includes a Kids Mode with age-appropriate content and parental controls. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Kids Mode includes:

Content filtering by age group (toddler, preschool, elementary, preteen)
Simplified Bible stories
Parental controls with passcode protection
No social features for child accounts

Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as you maintain an account with us. If you delete your account, all associated data will be permanently deleted from our systems and your iCloud storage. Local data on your device can be deleted through the app's settings.
