Leavn Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 15, 2026
Leavn is built to keep your Bible reading and spiritual life as private as practical. Many core experiences run locally on your device, but some features use network services when you choose to sign in, sync, participate in community features, receive notifications, access subscriptions, or use content that depends on remote providers. We do not sell personal information and we do not include third-party ads.
Information We Collect
| Category | Examples | Why it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Account and sign-in data | Apple Sign In credentials, Google Sign-In credentials, account identifiers, session tokens | To let you sign in, restore your session, and connect your account to supported services. |
| Content you create | Notes, highlights, bookmarks, prayer or journal entries, reading progress, community posts you choose to share | To provide the features you use and sync or share that content when you enable those features. |
| Diagnostics and usage data (optional) | Feature usage counts, performance metrics, crash reports, device/app version data | To improve app stability and understand which features need attention. You can disable optional diagnostics in Settings. |
| Device and service data | Push notification token, subscription receipt information, coarse location when finding churches, microphone/audio files you record, photo or camera access you grant | To deliver notifications, purchases, church discovery, audio features, and any media workflows you explicitly use. |
How Leavn Uses Network Services
- Apple services may be used for Sign in with Apple, CloudKit/iCloud sync, subscriptions, and push notifications.
- Google Sign-In may be used when you choose Google authentication.
- Supabase is used for supported authentication and session flows.
- Bible content fallbacks may use remote providers for certain translations or scripture search requests when local content is not sufficient.
- Leavn services may receive community content, support requests, optional analytics, or optional crash/diagnostic payloads.
On-Device and Offline Processing
Many reading, note-taking, and study experiences are available offline. Leavn also uses on-device intelligence where supported by the device and feature. Some flows still require internet access, including sign-in, sync, community features, subscription management, push notifications, certain remote content lookups, and any optional diagnostics you enable.
Your Choices and Controls
- You can use major parts of Leavn without creating an account.
- You can disable optional analytics and crash reporting in the app's privacy settings.
- You can manage notification, location, microphone, camera, and photo permissions through iOS Settings.
- You can delete local app data from inside the app and manage synced iCloud data through your Apple account settings.

Data Security
- Leavn uses Apple's platform protections plus encrypted network transport (HTTPS) for supported services.
- Sensitive credentials are stored using iOS security mechanisms such as Keychain where applicable.
- Only the systems needed to provide the feature you use should receive that data.
